How it's made
Every episode Stray Current Studio publishes is produced with generative AI. We would rather you hear it from us than find out later.
What the machines do
- Writing. Scripts are drafted by large language models working from a story structure, a world bible, and a continuity ledger.
- Voices. Every performance is synthesized. No human actor performs in our episodes.
- Sound. Ambience, foley and music are generated, sourced from licensed libraries, or both, then mixed automatically.
- Art. Cover art, character art and scene illustrations are generated.
What the humans do
- Design the worlds, the characters, the seasons and the rules they obey.
- Build and tune every part of the pipeline described above.
- Review, reject and regenerate output that does not meet the bar.
- Decide what is published. Nothing reaches a feed without a person releasing it.
What we do not do
- We do not clone, imitate, or synthesize the voice of any real person.
- We do not present synthesized performances as human ones.
- We do not use AI to impersonate real people, living or dead.
Why we say so
Audio drama is an intimate form, and a voice in your ear carries an implicit claim about who is speaking. Ours are synthetic. Knowing that should be your choice to make before you listen, not a discovery you make afterwards.
