Terms

Not yet reviewed by counsel. These terms apply from launch. We will update them after legal review and give notice of material changes as described under the changes section below.

Last updated October 10, 2026.

Who we are

Stray Current Studio is operated by Aporia Phonetic Group LLC, a Delaware limited liability company registered to do business in Washington (“we” or “us”). These terms apply when you use straycurrentstudio.com, its podcast feeds, and its games. By using them, you agree to these terms.

Who can use the site

Anyone may listen to public episodes and use the free materials, with a parent's or guardian's permission where local law requires it. You must be at least 18 years old to sign in, hold an account, or become a paid member.

How the episodes are made

Our episodes, voices, and artwork are produced with generative AI under human direction, as described on How it's made. Episodes are fiction. Any resemblance to real people or events is coincidental.

What is free

Public podcast episodes, public lore, the rules-lite game materials, the tutorial adventure, and the character creator with JSON and PDF export are available without payment or an account. An anonymous visitor cannot server-save a character or select that character in an account adventure.

Accounts and membership

Patreon is the only account and billing path at launch. The current tiers are:

TierAvailable nowComing later
Listener — $3/monthSave characters and sync listening progress across devices.Vote on season branches, starting with the first branching season.
Patron — $7/monthEverything in Listener. The full premium adventure catalog while membership is active, starting with the first premium release, and permanent access to qualifying adventures released during that membership.
Archivist — $15/monthEverything in Patron.Additional Archivist lore rewards are planned; their details have not been announced and are not a current promised benefit.

Benefits under “Coming later” are not available yet and are not part of what a membership provides today. The seasons published so far do not branch, so there is nothing to vote on, and no premium adventure has been released. We will announce each benefit before it becomes available.

An established account may keep its saved character roster after a paid membership ends. Voting requires an active paid Listener, Patron, or Archivist membership. Access to the full premium back catalog requires an active Patron or Archivist membership.

Premium adventures after membership ends

A premium adventure released during a qualifying active Patron or Archivist membership is permanently granted to that account. After membership ends, the account keeps those granted adventures but loses active-catalog access to other premium adventures. Listener membership by itself does not grant premium adventures.

Voting

Voting has not opened yet. The rules below apply once a branching season opens an election.

An active paid member gets one current choice per election, regardless of tier. A member may change that vote until the exact published deadline; the last ballot revision accepted by the server before the deadline is the one counted. Voting records are append-only, running totals remain hidden while voting is open, and the final aggregate tally is published after resolution.

If the final tally is perfectly tied, there is no runoff. The winner is selected immediately by a deterministic seeded draw whose commitment is published before voting and whose proof is revealed with the result. The winning fully produced branch becomes canonical. The unused fully produced branch remains private from the canonical release and may later appear separately as a lost-timeline release.

Characters, saves, and offline changes

Established accounts can synchronize listening progress, characters, and supported adventure runs across devices. The browser may temporarily keep changes offline. Synchronization can expose a conflict when two devices change the same run; the site asks the account holder which version to keep instead of silently discarding one.

Cancellation and billing

Membership changes, cancellation, billing timing, and payment disputes are handled through Patreon under Patreon's terms. Studio access follows the membership status and paid interval Patreon reports to us; synchronization may not be instantaneous.

Content and permitted use

Episodes, worlds, characters, artwork, adventures, and site materials belong to Aporia Phonetic Group LLC or their identified licensors. Access is for personal enjoyment and does not grant a right to redistribute, resell, impersonate the studio, or bypass access controls. Materials explicitly offered for download, printing, or play may be used in the manner stated with those materials.

Service changes

Features and future offerings may change. If we change a paid tier in a way that reduces its stated benefits, we will describe the change before it takes effect. A later terms change will not retroactively remove an adventure already granted under the vesting rule above.

No warranties

The site, feeds, and games are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for membership in the 12 months before the claim arose, or 50 US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Washington, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer laws of the place where you live.

Changes to these terms

We will post any change here with a new “last updated” date. If a change materially affects paid members, we will tell members before it takes effect.
