Privacy

Who is responsible

Aporia Phonetic Group LLC, a Delaware limited liability company registered to do business in Washington, operates Stray Current Studio and is responsible for the personal information described here.

Using the public site

You do not need an account to listen to public episodes, read public lore, use the free tutorial adventure, create and export a rules-lite character, or download free game materials. We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal information.

Cloudflare delivers the website, API, feeds, audio, images, and other public files. Like most delivery services, it may process standard request information such as an IP address, user agent, requested URL, time, and security signals to deliver and protect the service. Public media is stored in Cloudflare R2.

Local and offline storage

Your browser uses local storage and IndexedDB so the site can remember your player settings, listening progress, unsent voting drafts, cached character data, and adventure runs. This allows playback and supported game activity to recover after a refresh or work temporarily offline. Anonymous character-creator drafts are not server-saved; export them before leaving or refreshing the creator.

You can clear this local and offline data using your browser controls. Clearing it does not delete data already synchronized to an established account.

Patreon identity and membership

Patreon is the only account and membership path at launch. When you sign in, Patreon provides an account identifier and available profile information such as your email address, plus membership status and tier history. We use those facts to determine voting and premium-adventure access. Patreon handles payment details; we do not receive or store your card number or Patreon password.

Established account data

Supabase provides account authentication and stores the studio's application data, including:

your profile, verified email, Patreon link, membership intervals, and permanent adventure grants;
listening progress, completion markers, and explicit restart history;
saved characters, append-only character revisions, archives, and offline synchronization state;
adventure runs, character snapshots, choices, completion records, and conflicts between devices;
voting records, ballot revisions, timestamps, and server receipts; and
security, reconciliation, and operator audit records needed to run and protect the service.

Voting and revision histories are append-only so the published result can be audited and a later device cannot silently overwrite an earlier record. Public results show aggregate counts, not a list of voters.

Account recovery email

Supabase creates one-use account recovery links. Resend delivers the requested recovery email and processes the destination address and delivery metadata needed to send and troubleshoot that message. We do not use recovery requests for marketing.

Retention and deletion requests

We retain account data while the account is used and retain permanent entitlement, vote-integrity, security, and transaction records as needed to honor prior access, prove results, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Some append-only records may be de-identified or retained rather than rewritten when deletion would break those purposes.

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information. We will evaluate the request against the data we hold and any legal or integrity requirement that applies.

Service providers

Patreon — sign-in, membership, and payment.
Supabase — authentication, database, and synchronized account data.
Cloudflare — website, API, security, feeds, and media delivery/storage.
Resend — requested account recovery email delivery.

We do not share personal information with these providers for their advertising.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and accounts are for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including several US states, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy of it, and to object to or limit certain uses. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising. To make a request, email us from the address on your account so we can confirm it is you. We will respond within the time the law requires. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will explain the outcome of the appeal.

Where data is processed

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries where they operate.

Changes to this policy

We will post any change here with a new “last updated” date and, for material changes, notify account holders by email before the change takes effect.
