Captain of a Blackwind Dynasty raiding vessel
At a glance
Reads as relaxed right up until he isn't.
Rangy, quick.
A captain's coat patched more than mended; a Blackwind signet he doesn't wear where it can be seen.
Their story so far
A minor branch of the Blackwind pirate dynasty, Ash built his own small reputation without much family help -- which cuts both ways now that Ravenna Blackwind VII's succession crisis has every branch of the family jockeying for position. Granting the Skysong asylum was as much a statement of independence from his own dynasty as it was a favor.
The crack in them
Performs certainty he doesn't feel -- and has started to believe his own performance.
How they sound
Warm, quick tenor built for negotiating -- charming by default, guarded the instant a conversation turns personal; laughs to buy time before answering hard questions.
Their music
A confident brass flourish that resolves a half-step flat, like a joke that doesn't quite land.
What they carry
- A Blackwind signet ring he doesn't wear where it can be seen.
- A ledger of debts he never actually intends to collect.
In their words
Everything's negotiable. Ask me again in a week.
I don't keep things. Ask anyone.
